The Nabanna Scholarship is a special financial aid program by the West Bengal Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) aimed at supporting meritorious and economically disadvantaged students of West Bengal. It helps students who do not qualify for other state scholarships but still require financial assistance to continue higher education.
Unlike other scholarships, this scheme is not applied through an online portal—students need to submit a physical application directly to the Chief Minister’s Office or the Nabanna building in Howrah.
Eligibility Criteria
- To apply for the Nabanna Scholarship, the candidate must fulfill these conditions:
- Domicile: Must be a resident of West Bengal.
- Education Level: Must be studying in any recognized institution in West Bengal (Class 11 onwards, undergraduate, or postgraduate).
- Minimum Marks:
- HS Exam: At least 65% marks for higher secondary students.
- Graduation: At least 55% marks for postgraduate applicants.
- Income Limit: Annual family income should not exceed ₹60,000.
- Must not be receiving any other government scholarship at the time of application
Benefits
- Financial assistance ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 (one-time grant).
- Amount varies depending on the course level and the decision of the Chief Minister’s Office.
- Direct bank transfer to the student’s account after approval.
