Introduced to empower adolescent girls by reducing school drop-outs and delaying early marriages, promoting educational continuity

Eligibility Criteria

• Unmarried girls aged 13–18 enrolled in Class VIII–XII or vocational training (for K1).
• Unmarried at age 18 for K2.
• Family income limit of ₹1.2 lakh (waived for special-needs or orphaned girls)

Benefits

• K1: Annual scholarship of ₹1,000.
• K2: One-time grant of ₹25,000 upon reaching 18

Administering Department

• Government of West Bengal, with District Magistrates as sanctioning officers; managed via the Kanyashree portal
